"Yoga" comes from the Sanskrit word "yug" which means to unite, uniting our individual self with that which gave rise to it - the Divine. And the practices of yoga and meditation are the means for this.

This afternoon will start with a  gentle yoga class finishing with  deep relaxation. 22nd     Let's go for a walk!     Sunday 

 

We will leave the yoga centre around 10.00am car pooling, and head over to Albert Park Lake.  The walk around it is  about 5km long, so this will be an easy walk.    After that we will head to a nearby cafe to enjoy some more time together.

 

If you would like to join us, please contact us direct.   Bring the usual water, sun hat, sun screen etc.   Everyone welcome, it's a lovely way to get to know other students.

13th    Indigenous Guided Walk with Lionel Lauch    Sunday, 9.30 - 12.00pm

 

Join us this Mother's Day for a guided walk at Baldrys Crossing in Main Ridge.  Lionel will educate everyone in his easy going manner on bush-tucker, medicines and share knowledge of Indigenous culture.  Enjoy a didgeridoo led meditation surrounded by this ancient landscape.

29th    National Tree Day,   Giving Back    Sunday from 9.00am 

 

Each year we join a local group and help them to plant trees at Karkarook Park, Warrigal Road,  Heatherton.  This is feel good work, with many cultures in our community coming together to help out. 

 

Trees are by far the most cost effective technology we have for sequestering  carbon. The more trees we have, the better our chances of minimizing Climate Change and related issues like drought, famine, crop failures, storms, and floods.

Lionel will educate everyone in his easygoing manner on bush-tucker, medicines and share knowledge of indigenous culture and this ancient landscape surrounded by an array of native flora such as Banksia, Clematis and Wattle.  To finish enjoy a Yidaki (didgeridoo) led meditation in the picnic area.  

 

Meet at the Main Creek picnic area on Boneo Road, Flinders or car pool with us from the yoga centre at 8.30am.    Bring a towell to sit on for the meditation and a picnic lunch and please wear closed toe walking shoes and dress for all weather.

9th     Come for a hike with us,     Sunday 

 

We will leave the yoga centre around 10.00am and head out of Melbourne to  Cape Schanck.   Bushrangers Bay is a secluded beach reached by a stunning walk  along the cliff top.  

 

Please bring water, sun hat, picnic lunch, sun screen etc.    We always drop in at a coffee shop at Flinders on the way home, arriving back at the yoga centre in the late afternoon.  These walks are suitable for everyone and car pooling is available.    Contact us direct if you would like to join us.
